ALMC Staff

The Augmentative Learning and Movement Center maintains a highly trained staff to work with our population.  Annually, the staff is trained in CPR and emergency physical interventions and protective holds.  Continually, the school staff is monitored and coached on data collection and positive behavior support plans.  Our staff is also afforded the opportunity to attend continuing education sessions relevant to their discipline. 

Educator

Assists in developing curriculum that matches Vermont State framework

Assists in developing thematic units and activities that support the Vermont Stae frameworks

Helps to create community activities

Works with special educators and all other services to help create a healthy school environment for all students

Special Educator

Assists in shaping curriculum to meet individual student needs

Assists in creating student schedule

Demonstrates and models intervention strategies and provides feedback to direct service staff

Works with team to problem solve issues related to implementation

Applied Behavior Analyst / Clinical Behaviorist

Assesses adaptive behavior skills

Creates positive behavior support plan

Creates data collection tools

Creates data analysis graphs and provide recommendations/revisions to team

Demonstrates and models intervention strategies and provides feedback to direct service staff

Works with team to problem solve issues related to implementation

Speech and Language Pathologist

Assesses speech and language skills

Provides speech and language recommendations in treatment plans

Provides consultation to local SLP for specific skill area needs

Demonstrates and models intervention strategies and provide feedback to direct service staff

Works with team to problem solve issues related to implementation

Augmentative/Alternative Communication, SLP Consultation

Provides augmentative or alternative communication consultation, programming and services

 

Occupational Therapist

Assesses sensory processing skills, fine and gross motor skills, visual motor skills, and activities of daily living

Provides recommendations in treatment plan

Demonstrates and models intervention strategies and provides feedback to direct service staff

Works with team to problem solve issues related to implementation

Service Coordinator

Coordinates service provided by ALMC

Manages ALMC files

Collects and disseminates progress report information

Serves as the team’s contact person for ALMC staff and services

Creates agendas and facilitate regular team meetings

Medical Consultation
(as needed and arranged)

Reviews medical/psychiatric concerns and conditions and provides recommendations to treatment team

Conducts evaluations as arranged by local schools

Works with team to problem solve issues related to implementation
